The Sunfield Community Foundation provides scholarships and recognition awards to help local students achieve their goals.

Our Scholarship Program

In 1987, we began awarding scholarships to deserving high school seniors. To date, over $360,000 has been given in scholarship and recognition awards to 228 students.

Applicant / Award Criteria

Applicant must be a resident of the Sunfield Area (i.e.: lives within the boundaries of the old Sunfield Elementary School Attendance Area).

The Sunfield Community Foundation is a vital, active community service organization. We are a registered Michigan non-profit corporation, and a Federally recognized 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt entity.

The main focus of the Foundation is to provide further educational opportunities for area youth through our Scholarship Program. We also provide opportunities for students wanting to enter into a trade, as well as providing financial honorariums for seniors entering the military upon graduation.

Trades Scholarship

In 1920, we added a separate Trades Scholarship Program. This is an additional scholarship or tool allowance that is awarded to a graduating senior that wishes to enter a trade.

Military Service Honorarium

We also award the Lade Military Service Honorarium for students entering the military, as well as the Richard Lenon Award that is based solely on Community Service.
